Requests for Toilet Pass Letters for School
We receive a number of requests from patients and parents asking the surgery to provide a letter to support a toilet pass for use at school.
We understand that some schools may advise families to obtain such a letter from their GP. However, this can sometimes cause frustration and distress, as GP practices are generally unable to provide letters for this purpose.
To help support families, we have produced a standard information letter that can be shared with schools. This explains why the practice does not issue toilet pass letters and highlights the importance of ensuring that pupils have appropriate access to toilet facilities when needed.
If your child is under the care of a hospital consultant or specialist team for a medical condition, they may be able to provide more detailed clinical information or supporting evidence where appropriate.
